Bourbon Brown Sugar Sparkler



  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 fresh lemon juice, chilled
  • 3 oz bourbon
  • 3/4 cup (6 oz) dry sparkling wine, chilled
  • bitters


  1. Make a syrup of the water and brown sugar on the stove top or by microwaving for 2 minutes, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cool, then chill.
  2. Stir in lemon juice and bourbon. Divide evenly between four glasses. Top each with sparkling wine and 2-3 dashes bitters.
