- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 fresh lemon juice, chilled
- 3 oz bourbon
- 3/4 cup (6 oz) dry sparkling wine, chilled
- Make a syrup of the water and brown sugar on the stove top or by microwaving for 2 minutes, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cool, then chill.
- Stir in lemon juice and bourbon. Divide evenly between four glasses. Top each with sparkling wine and 2-3 dashes bitters.
